Trenching & Ploughing

DH4B with trencherThe Oakdale Group owns three major pipe installation machines. These included a fully refurbished Case 760 which has a trenching arm capable of cutting a 150mm wide trench to depths in excess of a metre. The vibrating mole plough on this machine can install MDPE pipe upto 90mm in diameter.


We also have at our disposal two DH4B machines - one with a back hoe and the other with a trencher. Both are fitted with vibrating mole ploughs. These are suitable for installing smaller diameter pipework, typically 50mm and below in those areas where access is tight and minimal damage is a necessity. Where hard ground is encountered the trenching and back hoe facilities ensure that progress can be maintained to keep the pipes at the required depth. Final reinstatement of all trenches and slits usually rests with the Client's ground staff .

Fleet of vehicles The company also owns a fleet of service vans of various sizes which enable our engineers to provide rapid response to Clients. The Company owns two large trailers for the delivery of machinery & equipment.


Whilst on site the operatives use our E-Z-GO Workhorse - with electric tipping body - to minimise damage to the turf and to enable easy transportation of equipment around the site. This is of particular use when carrying out fusion welded joints, when our generator can be transported from joint to joint with ease.
